Lisa is also the host of the Missing Voice Picture Book Discussion group, where she leads discussions with award-winning, diverse authors. The picture book features a person or group that is usually not heard. This may be because of race, sex, class, religion, special need, or little known historical fact. Her guests have been Newberry award winner, Matt de la Pena, Pura Belpre winner Duncan Tonatiuh, and Sydney Taylor award winner, Debbie Levy.
